4th of July is all about BBQ's and good food so WBLS wants to challenge the Tri-State Area to an online 4th of July BBQ Cook Off. The winner of this challenge will win the title of The 2013 WBLS Pit Master.

 

If you think you have what it takes to win the title, we are asking you to submit your best 4th of July BBQ Recipes. The Tri-State Area will vote on the best recipe to be crowned the winner of the BBQ Pit Master Challenge.

 

The winner will be featured online at WBLS.com, win a Family-Pack of tickets to Circle Of Sisters and we will feature their recipe at the Circle Of Sisters Expo for 40K people to see.

MANGO BARBECUE CHICKEN

Cooking Time: 20-25 MINUTES
Tell us about yourself: Im a native New Yorker who loves to cook and try new recipes, My family are my biggest fans and always say that the meals that I make up quickly in my head are usually my best,Im constantly being encouraged me to join a cooking show competition but Im a little shy and modest.
Ingredients: CHICKEN THIGHS, WINGS AND LEGS APPROX 12-15 PIECES 3 TABLESPOONS SEA SALT 1 TABLESPOON CAYENNE PEPPER 1 FRESH LEMON 1 CUP CHOPPED RIPE MANGO 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR 1/2 CUP WATER 1/3 CUP VEGETABLE OR CANOLA OIL 1/3 CUP LACHOY TERIYAKI SAUCE 1/3 CUP KETCHUP
Instructions: PLACE CHICKEN IN A BOWL SEASON WITH SEA SALT, JUICE FROM FRESH LEMON AND CAYENNE PEPPER LET SIT IN FRIDGE FOR AT LEAST 15- 20 MINUTES. IN A SAUCEPAN ADD MANGO,SUGAR,WATER, OIL TERIYAKI SAUCE, KETCHUP LET SIMMMER FOR 5 TO 7 MINUTES. REMOVE CHICKEN FRON FRIDGE ADD HALF OF SAUCE TO BOWL AND TOSS,ADD CHICKEN TO YOUR GRILL USING BALANCE OF MIXTURE FOR BASTING COOK 15-20 MINUTES UNTIL DONE.
Instructions: REMOVE AND SERVE!
