President Trump attacked ESPN Sports Center host Jemele Hill only one day after she was suspended on Monday.

ESPN suspended Hill for two weeks on Monday for criticizing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on social media. She stated he "created a problem for his players, specifically the black ones. If they don't kneel, some will see them as sellouts."

Players have taken knees instead of standing during the anthem to protest brutality against African-Americans, a movement that was started by Colin Kaepernick. Hill was suspended Monday for violating the company's social media guidelines.

On Tuesday morning, bright an early before he was able to wipe the sleep out his eyes Trump was on Twitter. He questioned the NFL's "massive tax breaks," then weighed in with another tweet: "With Jemele Hill at the mike, it is no wonder ESPN ratings have 'tanked,' in fact, tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!"

ESPN colleagues rushed to defend Jemele Hill after Donald's tweet, and NOW, Hill has voiced her own appreciation. She tweeted, "I love you @michaelsmith for being my biggest supporter, a great friend, terrific husband & father. I truly don't deserve you. See you soon."

Smith has co-hosted SportsCenter's "SC6" alongside Hill since February in a format that focuses sports and popular culture. Smith did not appear on Monday evenings "SC6" broadcast following ESPN's suspension announcement. After the White House called Hill's September tweet about Trump a "fireable offense." A report from ThinkProgress said the network tried to replace Hill for the night, but Smith refused to do the show without her.

On Monday, Matt Berrie filled in for Smith, and he is expected to return for Tuesday's show.
