Join WBLS and Open Line for a FREE event to have a real sessions talk about the State of Black America in our community.

This FREE Event is taking place on Tuesday, Febraury 20th from 7pm-9pm at the Schomburg Center for Research for Black Culture located on 515 Malcolm X Blvd in Harlem.

This lively discussion will be moderated by Bob Pickett & Bob Slade from Open Line and feature Carl Heastie and other politicians as we talk about the state of our communities and our culture.

Featured Speaker
Carl E. Heastie is the 100th Speaker of the New York State Assembly. He has the historic distinction of being the first African-American to serve as leader of the Chamber’s 150 members representing communities across the state of New York. Since his election on February 3, 2015, he has led the Assembly Democratic Majority in efforts to uplift communities and promote a Families First agenda that prioritizes strategic investments in the health, safety, economic and social well-being of New York’s families. Under his leadership, the Assembly has won a number of landmark victories that deliver on the Assembly Majority’s promise to expand opportunities for achievement in communities around the state.
