Brooklyn woman ordered to stay away from boyfriend she shot in face — even though he still loves her
A Brooklyn woman who shot her boyfriend in the face — before he let bygones be bygones - skirted jail time Monday, but was barred from rekindling the romance any time soon.
Evelyn Barnave, 43, was slapped with five-year probation for the 2011 armed assault of Randolph Costa, 59, who testified at trial it was all an unfortunate accident and that he still loves her.
"This spilled out into the streets of Brooklyn where an innocent person could have gotten hurt," said New York Supreme Court Justice Matthew D'Emic, who ruled last month the shooting was reckless, not intentional.
