Subway cleaner Antoine Taylor teams with straphangers to save fallen Anthony Larocca from train

A quick-thinking subway cleaner teamed with brave straphangers to save a man on the verge of being run over by a train, the Daily News has learned.

Anthony Larocca fell from the platform at 53rd St. and Lexington Ave. Wednesday night — seconds before the lights of an approaching E train appeared in the darkened tunnel.

Station cleaner Antoine Taylor, 33, of Harlem, was pulling a garbage can along the platform at about 8 p.m. when he heard a bone-chilling scream from a woman waiting for a train. Taylor then saw Larocca, 41, sprawled between the rails, trying to get up.

“He rolled over closer to the platform and got on his knees, but his mobility was totally off,” Taylor said. “He was having trouble moving.”
