Former Giants sack master Michael Strahan is on the verge of tackling a new job — co-host of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Strahan, 42, was hammering out the final details of a contract that would make him a permanent member of the breakfast show’s crew, a source with knowledge of the deal told the Daily News Tuesday.
“They’re on the verge of signing the deal,” the source said. “It could be announced this week.”
Under the arrangement in the works, Strahan would do double duty at ABC, keeping his gig as co-host of “Live with Kelly & Michael.”
The source said the deal has been in the works for months and has nothing to do with the sudden departure of Josh Elliott from “Good Morning America.”
Elliott blindsided his ABC bosses Sunday night by quitting via email. He decided to jump ship to NBC Sports.
