Daily News Spelling Bee winner spells zaguan for shot at national title

Sai Vishudi Chandrasekhar, 12, beat out 65 other competitors with the proper spelling of the term used for a Mexican vestibule. She will head to Washington in May to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Sai Vishudi Chandrasekhar correctly spelled the term for a Mexican vestibule to win the Daily News Spelling Bee at Murry Bergtraum High School on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hunter College High School seventh-grader beat 64 other spellers after nearly four hours of competition. "I really just wanted to kind of do my best," said Chandraskhar, 12, of Queens, who will now represent New York at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington. "Spelling is something I do for fun. I just like the experience."
