WBLS CELEBRATES WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH: 31 DAYS, 31 PHENOMENAL WOMEN

Today we honor author, playwright, TV and radio personality, Vy Higginsen. Not only is she known as the woman behind the microphone on New York radio stations, she is also recognize for her products and services to African-American audiences.

After serving a decade in the radio industry which includes WBLS-FM, the radio legend went on to publish and edit Unique NY, a lifestyles magazine designed for African-Americans tourists. Today she continues to write and produce content as the executive director of the Emmy Award-winning Mama Foundation for the Arts in Harlem, New York.
