Iyanla Vanzant Says What Part of Her Life She Would Fix, Trina Braxton + Her Love for Dollar Tree [VIDEO]
With another season of Iyanla, Fix My Life set to premiere on OWN next week, TV host and Yoruba priestess Iyanla Vanzant is making her rounds to promote a very therapeutic fifth season of her show. So we made sure she made time to stop by the WBLS studios to talk life, love, and transformation with Shaila, New York’s Sweetheart.
The TV and radio personalities embarked in a little girl chat as Iyanla broke down the meaning of the meaning of her name, which stems from the phrase, “great mother.” Iyanla went on to explain that the significance of her name is “not about mothering children or birthing children. It’s about what mothers do, which is teach and nurture and beautify and nourish.”
Inquisitive as always, Shaila bugged the TV host to spill details about her upcoming season. Focused on the preview, which includes Trina Braxton’s story, Shaila asked what could Trina could possibly have to fix regarding her now ex-husband, Gabe, because they’re already divorced.
Iylana gave WBLS a snippet, saying, “They want to have a healthy separation and [understand] how to go from being partners to being friends. And also, there was a breakdown between Gabe and the boys. Those are not his biological children, but of course he was there and he really wanted to mend that breakdown. And he discovers some things in the show…that I’ll wait and let you see.”
Watch Iyanla and Shaila talk about all the ways to fix their lives, and yours, below.
