BET network announces 'Boomerang' reboot is on the way. The 1992 Eddie Murphy film will be turned into a 10 episode 30-minute comedy series.

The storyline will remain the same, however no word on whether or not the original cast mates will make an appearance on the show.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

‘Boomerang’ reboot will center “a successful executive who finds that his lifestyle choices have turned back on him when his new boss turns out to b a bigger deviant that he is.”

Scott Mills, president of BET says,

“The shows that have been most successful on BET are all scripted: The Game, The New Edition Story, Being Mary Jane, Real Housewives of Hollywood. When you succeed in that space, it has a wonderful effect on the brand.”
