Ice Cube stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden Tuesday night, and set the record straight for all those Friday fans wondering if there’s more to come – “we’re working on one right now!”

Cube’s confirmation of a new Friday flick – titled Last Friday – came after singer Jason Derulo confessed he used to watch Friday every Friday. As the gangsta-rapper-turned-family-actor shared a few details about his new project, funnyman James Corden asked if all the parts had been cast yet, hoping to nominate himself for a role. Cube played it cool and told the TV host that he looks more like a “Saturday” movie kind of guy.

Ice Cube’s announcement comes just weeks after Mike Epps and John Witherspoon teased fans with a skit about a possible new film in the works. And now, it sounds like it’s all true. There’s no word on whether or not the original, full cast will be involved, but we can only hope to see Chris Rock, Regina King, and Nia Long back on screen next to Craig, Pops, and good ol’ Smokey!
