STARZ Seeks Legal Action After ‘Power’ Leak

STARZ is seeking justice for their recently leaked episodes of Power – and they just might get it.

The premium television network was met with a PR nightmare Tuesday night (Aug. 9) when the three remaining episodes of their hit show were leaked via Facebook Live. The link to the livestream was eventually removed, but not before it received hundreds of thousands of views.

The culprit has yet to publicly be named, but he won’t be hard to find.

The man responsible for the leak not only put his face on camera during the stream and told viewers they had his good friend with access to STARZ’ Mediaroom to thank for the stream, but he posted broadcasted the episodes from his personal FB page.

STARZ released a statement Wednesday, stating the lead occurred because of breach of the press screening room, which the person responsible confirms in his video.

“The final three episodes of Power’s fourth season were leaked online due to a breach of the press screening room,” said Starz. “This seems to be a case of password sharing that resulted in homemade videos of the episodes which were taped off a TV screen and posted online. Starz has begun forensic investigations and will take legal action against the responsible parties.”

WBLS attempted to reach out to Naturi Naughton’s team for comment, but they declined to make a statement at this time.
