Award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion is helping bring awareness to mental health.

She has teamed up the campaign Seize The Awkward in a new public service announcement called “Check In On Your Friends.” According to reports, this initiative, along with The Jed Foundation, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Droga5, and The Ad Council, are aiming to engage in conversations about mental health with young adults (16-24) and their peers.

In the PSA, Megan speaks on the pressure she faces from society to be strong and speaks on the importance of having a peer to speak to. The goal of this new campaign is to promote “open discussions on mental health, and target young adults, particularly Black and Hispanic youth.”

The campaign will also provide the appropriate resources to help start conversations and help recognizing if a friend is going through emotional challenges. For more information on this topic, viewers are urged to go to SeizeTheAwkward.org
