Prayers Up for the Alijah Arenas, the son of retired NBA player Gilbert Arenas.
It has been reported that Alijah has been placed in a medically induced coma after being in a car accident. The car accident occurred on Thursday, April 24, but the accident details have not yet been revealed. Reporter Shams Charania tweeted out, “Five-star prospect and USC commit Alijah Arenas was involved in a serious car crash early Thursday morning, hospitalized and placed into an induced coma, sources tell ESPN. Arenas, 18, is the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas.”
The news of the accident comes after it was announced that the high school basketball player wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and signed a deal with Adidas. In the 2025 recruiting class, Alijah is the No.10 overall player and No.1 shooting guard. He was originally set to graduate to college basketball in 2026 before he reclassified.
Alijah Arenas’ mother, former Basketball Wives star, Laura Govan, asked for prayers for her family on social media. “I need all you’re f*****g prayers,” she share on her Instagram page.
Arenas committed to the USC Trojans men’s basketball team back in January after turning down multiple school offers. We will continue to keep the Arenas family in our thoughts and prayers.
