Ice-T is set to host “Fame and Fentanyl,” a new gripping two-hour documentary special, examining the devastating impact of fentanyl on our society and culture on A&E. According to the press release, “the special offers a raw and unfiltered look at the deadly drug that has claimed the lives of many. “

From high-profile celebrities to everyday families across the country, the undeniable impact of fentanyl has decimated so many lives. “Fame and Fentanyl” takes a deep dive into stories of those including Prince, Angus Cloud, Tom Petty, Michael K. Williams, and more.

Today, fentanyl-related deaths dominate headlines almost daily and with more than 70,000 Americans dying from fentanyl poisoning at the height of the crisis, the need for awareness has become vital.

In a statement, Ice-T expressed the importance of bringing awareness to the dangers of fentanyl and why he’s hosting the special

“Fentanyl, for me, came out of nowhere. By the time I learned about the drug, I had already lost people to it. It’s a poison in the drug world, and I wanted to do everything that I could to make people aware of its danger,” Ice-T said.

In addition to “Fame and Fentanyl”, Ice-T took to social media to announce his return to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

“Back filming SVU and the first scene I shoot…. I get Fd up! It’s in the script,” he wrote.

“Fame and Fentanyl” premieres Monday, August 25 at 9 pm ET/PT on A&E.
