Queen Latifah is a big fan of Megan Thee Stallion, and she wants everybody to know it.
During an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, Lafifah shared why she’s so fond of “Hot Girl Meg.”
“She’s so cool, she’s so fun, she’s so very talented and strong in her spot,” Queen Latifah said. “I love that energy carrying hip-hop into the future, of course.”
In April, Queen Latifah performed during Meg’s set at Coachella, surprising everyone in attendance. Latifah and Thee Stallion killed the stage with a performance of her classic “U.N.I.T.Y.”
“She asked me to pop out at Coachella, and I was like, ‘What? For Real, OK?’ I had to bring it for her because this is Coachella, we gotta take that thing down,” Queen Latifah said. “The people are gonna be ready.
“I wanna thank her again for having me, it was so much fun. They worked so hard, her dancers and everybody. It was just good energy that night.”
Queen Latifah also implied that she may be releasing new music.
It’s just so much music and it’s time and the things,” she said. “But I’ma make some time because I want to get it out there. It’s all kinds of music, too.”
Queen Latifah also spoke about working with Hudson on The Secret Life of Bees, which was released in 2008.
“I remember how much love was on the set. Alicia was on the set. I mean, Sophie Okonedo was on the set,” Latifah said. “There was just a lot of love in that set. We had to love on each other through that film. so, but you and Dakota Fanning were tight. It was just so sweet. Gina Prince-Bythewood did a great job.”
“To be in there with such powerful women was one of my favorite moments in my career, to be able to work with you,” Hudson said.
