Tiffany Haddish believes self-love trumps all relationships.

The 45 year-old actress revealed that she married herself during a girls’ trip across Africa. “I thought to do that because first, I wanted to have a little party. Second, I also wanted to hold myself accountable for some things,” she told The New York Post.

Haddish continued, “If you’re going to keep any promises in life, the promises you make to yourself are the main ones you need to be keeping. That’s the longest relationship you’re going to have … So, f*ck it, I’m marrying me.”

Her self-ceremony appears in her upcoming docuseries Tiffany Haddish Goes Off, out Nov. 13 on Peacock. In the new docuseries, The “Girls Trip” star is on a real-life girls trip through Zimbabwe and South Africa with her best friends: Selena Martin, Shermona Long, and Clark.

The announcement arrives after Haddish admits to needing to take time to pause and work on herself. In recent years, the comedian was arrested for DUI twice and faced allegations of having “groomed and molested” two minor siblings.

“I feel like it was just like a constant attack on her when she didn’t have any bad intent,” her friend Sparkle Clark, who appears on the show, told The Post.

In 2008, the comedian tied the knot with William Stewart, an Army veteran who later worked in entertainment, including as a Paramount executive. They later divorced in 2011. Haddish and rapper Common dated in 2020 and quietly split in August 2021.
