Jennifer Hudson and her son, David Otunga Jr. shared how musical talent runs in their family.
On Sunday, (Nov 16) the EGOT shared a selection of clips from their shared time in the recording studio. The duo recorded a duet of “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.
“The best part of singing is singing with my son,” Hudson captioned the social post. “He said mama let’s record one of my fav songs together. 💜”
In the clips, David and Hudson could be seen riffing and harmonizing by the mics. In the first video, Hudson is coaching her only child giving him the push he needs to take off. In the next slide, David listened to the track back, bopping his head and smiling, pleased with the recording.
Hudson also included playful moments with she and David swatting each other on the arm in between takes.
In the last slide, Hudson shared her part of the duet in her signature style. Hudson humorously shared that she couldn’t resist sneaking in the “Jennifer Hudson power note” towards the end. David playfully told her, “Now, mama, you can’t be doing all of that!”
The sweet moment left fans impressed and entertained. “Okay nephew,” one user commented.
Da Brat wrote, “OMG I HAVE WATCHED THIS OVER AND OVER AND OVER DYING LAUGHING AT THE LAST CLIP LOL HE SOUNDS SO GOOD THO.”
“No way!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I remember when he was a toddler playing my keyboard,” Michael Bearden wrote”

Hudson and her ex-fiancé David Otunga Sr. welcomed David Jr. on Aug. 10, 2009. The former couple ended their engagement in 2017, but Hudson and David Jr. maintained a supportive co-parenting relationship. Hudson is reportedly dating Common.
