Chilli and Matthew Lawerence claim they never argue.
Appearing on an episode of Sherri, they revealed what they handle their disputes.
“We don’t fight. We have disagreements…” Chilli told Sherri Sheppard.
“You can disagree on things but I could never even imagine raising my voice at Chilli],” Lawerence added. “Which is weird. I’ve been in relationships where you do and you go back and [forth]. I could never do that [with Chilli]. There’s too much respect.”
“And the way my acid reflux is set up,” Chilli joked. “It needs to be easy. It’s possible to be that way.”
Chile went on to say that communication is critical to thriving relationship.
“When you think about it, you want to talk out your differences. And you don’t have to yell at each other to do that,” she said. “If I’m upset and he’s upset or whatever, then sometimes, let’s talk about this later so we’re not yelling at each other. Saying something that we’re gonna wanna apologize for it because you hurt their feelings.”
Chili’s gained “wisdom” from her previous relationships. With Dallas Austin, Chilli shares an adult son Tron. She also dated Usher in the early 2000s. Lawrence was married to Cheryl Burke, professional dancer from 2019 to 2022.
Chill gushed over Lawrence when she appeared on Sherri in 2023.
“I never thought the name ‘Matthew’ would make me blush so much,” Chilli explained.
“To this day we have not had one argument,” she added. “I’m like ‘Matthew, it’s gonna happen one day, cause we’re going to be together forever.’”
“Obviously we both are like, ‘Man if we had met years ago’ and all that,” Chilli added. “There’s our time and then there’s God’s time. When you go through more stuff you really appreciate that person so much more. You cherish the relationship in a different way. I’ve never experienced anything like this.”
