The “One Wish” singer posted an emotional Instagram reel, opening up about spending the holidays without his children after a judge ruled that he is not permitted to see them during Christmas or even on his son’s birthday.

“Just did my own Christmas tree,” he says to start the video. “Usually the kids are here with the presents, but it’s different times now,” he said, before showing a before-and-after image of his tree.

“A lonely Christmas,” he says in the caption. “No kids, no presents, no little feet running around just a tree and the weight of missing what matters most. I’m learning the hard way. I understand that not every lesson comes gently. Life teaches in many ways. I’m listening. #MerryChristmas #Missyou

Last week, Ray J expressed his sadness of missing his son’s birthday and not spending the holiday with his children.

“Man, I don’t even want to talk about it,” he told The Shaderoom. “I’m missing my kids. I’m missing Christmas, my son’s birthday.”

How We Got Here

Ray J is currently under a no-contact restraining order following his arrest last month. It stemmed from an incident involving his estranged wife, Princess Love. Authorities allege that during a livestream, Ray J briefly displayed a firearm while claiming he feared Princess and her family were attempting to take their two children, Melody, 7, and Epik, 5.

Though he denies pointing a weapon at Princess, the restraining order has since been extended. He was later released on a $50,000 bail.
