Wunmi Mosaku walked this year’s Golden Globes with a special guest.

The Sinners actress debuted her pregnancy while walking the red carpet in a dazzling yellow gown ahead of the awards ceremony.

Speaking with Variety, Mosaku expressed how glad she was to finally reveal the news.

“It’s a relief. I’m not gonna lie,” Mosaku said, adding, “Hiding pregnancy is really, really hard, and just being able to be really present in the moment, and accepting myself exactly how I am in the moment is really a relief. It’s a beautiful thing.”

In another interview, Mosaku detailed how the color of her dress was intentional. “This yellow moment is a beautiful, custom dress made by Matthew Reisman,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “And we went for yellow, because I’m coming out with my pregnancy. And yellow in Yoruba, we say, ‘mother is golden (Iya ni Wúrà),’ and I thought, this is the perfect color.”

The Nigerian-born English actress welcomed her first child, a daughter, just seven months before portraying Annie in Ryan Coogler’s film, which has garnered seven Golden Globe nominations. Now months after it’s release, Mosaku is expanding her family once more.

She penned a personal essay to Vogue, released during her red carpet strut, explaining that being tight-lipped about her pregnancy was cultural and rooted in sacredness.

“I have some news. Beautiful, personal, sacred news. A prayer, really. It’s something I want to hold close—to nurture quietly, to meditate on and manifest with those who can truly hold me in the light as all this beauty and change unfolds. It’s delicate and fragile. Scary and awe-inspiring. Humbling and deeply profound,” she said.

She then explained why she decided to share her “beautiful, personal, sacred news” with the world at the Globes.

“Everything in me resists sharing it publicly—not because I’m not grateful or joyful, but because this feels like one of the few things that truly belongs to me,” she wrote, adding, “I’ll be in the public eye for the coming weeks [during awards season] as we excitedly take our seats amongst our peers, and I will be doing it with an ever-growing bump.”

Sinners took home two Golden Globe awards: the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award and Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson, while also earning nominations in major categories like Best Picture and Director
