Rymir Satterthwaite, the man claiming to be Jay-Z’s son, and his godmother, Lillie Coley, have filed to appeal the $119,000 judgment, which he calls a “publicity stunt.”

Last week a California federal judge ordered Satterthwaite’s godmother to pay Jay-Z $119,235.45 for the rapper’s legal fees. The six-figure judgment arrived after a paternity case that dragged out across several years and states.

Satterhwaite alleged the veteran rapper impregnated his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, in the mid-1990s.  She was 16, while the rapper was 22, when the alleged incident occurred. Jay-Z consistently denied the allegations.

“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed—and rejected—in multiple other courts,” JAY-Z’s attorneys wrote last year. They also argued the lawsuit was part of Sattherthwaite’s “decades-long harassment” against him.

In response to the judgement, Satterthwaite fired back on X declaring that “fraud is not protected speech.”

“For Anti-SLAPP to apply it must be: A real and lawful proceeding A court with proper jurisdiction And activity that is not based on fraud The very reason case was brought before California court was to address allegations of fraud & jurisdictional defects not to pay for fraud,” he wrote.

Anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) laws are intended to prevent people from using courts, and potential threats of a lawsuit, to intimidate people who are exercising their First Amendment rights.

In his rant, Satterhwaite announced that he would be appealing the federal court ruling.

Satterthwaite added, “He’s not getting any money, we don’t pay for fraud and having sex with minors.”

“It’s not over until we win”

In 2022, according to court records, a New Jersey judge barred Coley and Satterthwaite from filing any more lawsuits in that state without obtaining the court’s approval. The judge concluded that the repeated attempts to litigate the paternity issue had failed.

Through each attempt at a lawsuit and trying to get DNA from JAY-Z, the rapper blocked every move and has always denied the paternity accusations.

While tagging the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, Satterthwaite stated that he is not giving up on the paternity case.

“It’s not over until we win; we never had our day in court for merits of case. Nobody wants to see the proof of fraud and under age woman. Deeds, affidavits, property tax. Privilege speech of lies does qualify for anti slapp protection. @AGPamBondi.”
