Halle Berry and her partner have taken the next step towards matrimony.

On an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Berry confirmed that she and partner Van Hunt are officially engaged. The actress explained to host Jimmy Fallon that fans have had some “confusion” about her and Hunt’s relationship status after their almost six years of dating.

“There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no,” Berry said.

“But, that’s not the case?” Fallon asked after Berry was interrupted by a “jealous” heckler in the audience.

“I did not say no,” Berry affirmed. “We just don’t have a date, but of course I said yes, I would marry him!”

“I’m so happy, you guys are a great couple,” Fallon said. “Security, please have that guy taken out, bye,” he joked, referring to the heckler. “No. I’m so happy, you guys are a great couple. Congratulations.”

As Fallon congratulated her, Berry teased, “He did put a little ring on it.” Cameras then got a quick glimpse at the chunky gold engagement ring, featuring black designs and a diamond a top, on Berry‘s finger.

“Well, I’ve been married three times”

Berry’s confirmation that she, 59, and Van, 55, are planning their nuptials comes eight months after he shared that while he had popped the question, she hadn’t given him an answer yet.

“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” Van shared during a joint interview with berry for Today.com in June. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”

The Oscar winner admitted that her being married before played a role in her hesitancy.

“Well, I’ve been married three times,” Halle—previously wed to David Justice, Eric Benét and Olivier Martinez—explained. “Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t.”

Berry is starring as an insurance broker in Crime 101, slated to hit theaters on Feb. 13.
