Niecy Nash recently shared how she was reduced by a swinger couple while partying in Mexico.
Making an appearance on Baby, This is Keke Palmer, she recalled how she, her wife Jessica Betts, and their family were stranded in Puerto Vallarta.
”We were getting low on food where we stayed,” said Nash. “We said, ‘Oh, well, you know what? There’s a W that we could get to in the golf cart. Let’s go over to this hotel and try to get some rations and bring them back to our spot.”
Sitting at the hotel bar, Nash began speaking to a couple who were swingers. She then came up with a plan so they could get back to safety.
“‘Well, what room are y’all in? Where’s the party?” Nash recalled. “We get the room number. And we order everything that we need to take back to the house to their room because we’re not guests. And then we say, ‘No, we want to pay for it in cash.’ So it wouldn’t be on their bill when they checked out. You know what I mean?”
And it was like, ‘Oh, you know, maybe next time.’ You know, and thanks for the food.’ And we got out of there, and they were so drunk they didn’t even know that we ordered all the stuff to their room.”
NASH RECALLS OUT WHOOPI GOLDBERG
Elsewhere in the interview, Nash shared how she once called out Whoopi Goldberg on the set of the 1995 film Boys on the Side. During one scene, Nash and Goldberg’s characters were interacting, but they had to do more takes because Goldberg kept laughing. Nash then decided to get to the bottom of the matter.
“I stay in the bathroom, and I come out, and I’m supposed to tell her words about her friend in the bathroom, because her friend was sickly. And whatever the line was, Whoopi kept laughing because it sounded really weird, the way the words were put together,” Nash recalled.
“I was in that bathroom, and I prayed, ‘Lord, don’t, please.’ I said, ‘This woman, if she laughs one more time, I’m gonna say something,” she continued.
Noting the frustration of the director, Herbert Ross, Nash stepped in
“I stopped, and he said, ‘What is the problem?’ and I said, ‘Sir, I’m sorry, but she’s messing up the scene because she keeps laughing.’ “
She continued, “Whoopi Goldberg looked at me and said, ‘No, you didn’t——,’ And I said, ‘Yes, I did. They’re not going to fire you!”
