Offset was shot outside a casino in Seminole, Fla.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored,” a spokesperson for Offset told PEOPLE.
The Seminole Police Department also released a statement to the Hollywood Reporter.
“An incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”
Police also noted that officers were on site immediately and that “the situation was contained quickly.” In the aftermath of the incident, two individuals were detained, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
“The site is secure, and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal,” the police department added in a statement.
In 2022, the former Migos rapper was present during the tragic 2022 shooting in Houston that claimed the life of his cousin and fellow Migos member, Takeoff. He was also a 2019 drive-by shooting outside a recording studio in Atlanta, where Offset was present, but he escaped the situation unharmed.
Offset is the father of six children: Jordan, Kody, and Kalea from previous relationships. He’s also the son of Kulture, Wave, and Blossom with his estranged wife, Cardi B. Despite a highly publicized and turbulent relationship with Cardi—which included a 2024 divorce filing and her brief subsequent relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs—the two have recently been noted for their commitment to peaceful co-parenting.
