Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is looking to take his talents to Broadway.

Speaking with PEOPLE, the legendary former wrestler and superstar actor revealed that he wants to perform on stage.

“For the past two and a half to three years, we have been working on my Broadway debut,” Johnson said. “I’m revealing it now because it’s tequila talking.”

Johnson also said that he and Kevin Hart “were going to do The Odd Couple” on Broadway. But scheduling conflicts forced them to scrap the project.

“We should’ve been great. Kevin is my best friend. I love him to death, and the truth is, he’s so booked for the next three to five years,” Johnson says. “That’s his schedule, that’s a reality. I totally get it. And I love it, and I respect him for that. We do Jumanji, which we’ll promote at the end of the year, but I’m not letting that dream go,” he laughed.

Although the Odd Couple may be on hold, Johnson still wants to live out his Broadway dream.

“So we’ll see, but maybe it’s The Odd Couple with Jeffrey. I don’t know, maybe it’s a musical. And I could run around singing in keys that don’t exist,” said Johnson. “I might do a little dance. And I might snatch my waist a little bit. We’ll see.”

Johnson also told Lin-Manuel Miranda that the theater has an undeniable magic.

“This theater has so much history and mana to it,” Johnson explained. “And I told Lin-Manuel [Miranda] when I saw him on stage, we were rehearsing earlier, I was like, ‘Dude, I feel it in this theater.’”

While it might be a while before his debut on Broadway,  Johnson is currently awaiting the reception of the latest Moana film. Releasing on July 10, the film is a live-action adaptation. The film brings the beloved 2016 animated classic to life with Catherine Laga’aia as the titular heroine and Johnson reprising his role physically as the demigod Maui.
