Simone Biles has become the latest high-profile athlete targeted in a brazen home invasion in Chicago.
In a TikTok video, Biles said that three masked men broke into her Chicago residence and stole her Porsche GTS. The Olympic icon detailed the shocking break-in on social media while out shopping for a replacement vehicle.
“I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole my Porsche,” she said in the middle of a “get ready with me” video. “But that’s another story. If you guys wanna know, I’ll do a story time on that.”
Biles told her followers that although police eventually recovered the stolen sports car, the disturbing experience prompted her to buy a new ride and step up her home security.
“I feel like I need a reality TV show,” she said. “The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity. And so it would be really easy for producers to just film regularly. That is one of the reasons why we also got our Doberman.”
Biles confirmed that law enforcement eventually recovered the stolen vehicle.
“Yes, we recovered the car, onto the next,” she wrote in her caption.
Ready for a change after the theft, Biles test-drove an Audi but decided the car wasn’t quite the right fit.
We went to go look at the car, and I test-drove it, and I was like, ‘Oo, this car is really muscle-y,’” she said. “I didn’t like the way it drove, and I’m not about to manhandle a car.”
“We went over to Porsche. They had a Cayenne GTS, and baby, when they turned that thing on, I was sold,” she recalled. “I felt like Tiffany Haddish from Girls Trip: ‘Give it to me! I want it! Give it to me!’”
Speaking in an interview with PEOPLE, Biles reflected on her upcoming move to Indiana. Her husband, Jonathan Owens, recently signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
“I’ve been in Houston most of the time, so I’m going to officially move there [to Indianapolis] a little bit later,” she told the outlet. “So I haven’t experienced too much, but the stadium is stunning. It’s beautiful.”
