Nick Cannon is sharing his truth in his upcoming Netflix documentary.
“People have been fascinated with my lifestyle for quite some time,” Cannon told US Weekly. “So instead of letting them make up stuff, I’m gonna give you everything.’
The media mogul and father of 12 is looking forward to showing the world he manages his large family.
“I think we’re being more open and more vulnerable, and coming from, you know, a very unorthodox setting,” said Cannon.
He admitted that all of his children’s mothers were not on board with being in the documentary.
“They were like, ‘Why are we letting cameras into our homes?’” Cannon recalled. “I think that everybody’s very comfortable with just keeping their peace. But everybody said that they would do it for me, so I’m appreciative of that.”
Cannon said that filming the doc “makes you have a lot of those challenging and uncomfortable conversations that you might not have had if you didn’t [have cameras rolling] because the world is watching.”
He also hopes that his extended family will receive the project.
“So I’m just praying that they all handle it very well because — or to the best of their ability — because it’s going to be a lot,” he said.
CANNON’S MASSIVE FAMILY
Cannon’s unconventional family tree includes 12 children shared with six different women. His journey into fatherhood began during his marriage to pop icon Mariah Carey, with whom he shares fraternal twins Moroccan and Monroe, born in 2011. Over the following decade, Cannon expanded his blended family with former pageant winner Brittany Bell, DJ Abby De La Rosa, model Bre Tiesi, photographer LaNisha Cole, and model Alyssa Scott. Tragically, his fifth child, Zen—whom he shared with Scott—passed away from brain cancer at five months old in December 2021. Known for managing an intricate, non-traditional co-parenting dynamic, Cannon maintains that despite the logistical challenges of splitting time across multiple households, he remains an active, hands-on father devoted to providing for and supporting all of his children.
