Ike Turner’s daughter, Mia, wants to set some things straight.
She wants to clear her father’s name and the way he’s being portrayed.
In the hit movie What’s Love Got To Do With It, that showed Tina’s life, Mia claims that the story was “fictionalized.” She also claims that her father never raped Tina. According to a report, she claims “she didn’t witness brutality on her father’s part herself and has struggled to come to terms with her father’s violence towards Tina. But not rape.”
In an exclusive interview she said,
“Obviously I wasn’t there that night…but after I saw the movie I called Tina’s sister Aillene and said: ‘What in the world?’ She then called Tina and confirmed to me that it never happened.”
Before Ike passed away in 2007, he admitted that he hit Tina, he denied raping her. Tina described having sex with Ike was like “an expression of hostility — a kind of rape — especially when it began or ended with a beating.”
Mia lived with her father and Tina during her childhood. She’s currently working on a documentary about the legendary duo.
