In celebration of Black History Month, TikTok has unveiled a comprehensive lineup of initiatives aimed at honoring and amplifying Black creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses. The platform’s 2025 programming includes the introduction of the “Black Creators to Watch” cohort, the launch of the SOAR Together business accelerator program, and a series of in-person community events across the United States.

TikTok Spotlighting Emerging Black Creators

TikTok’s “Black Creators to Watch” initiative seeks to highlight individuals who are making significant contributions both on and off the platform. The selected group comprises educators, beauty influencers, business owners, and more. Throughout February, these creators will receive enhanced exposure and promotional opportunities, allowing them to reach wider audiences and further their impact.

Empowering Black-Owned Businesses

In partnership with Black Girl Ventures, TikTok is launching the SOAR Together business accelerator program. This six-week initiative is designed to support 20 selected Black-owned businesses in expanding their presence on TikTok Shop. Participants will gain access to educational courses, business coaching, and mentorship from esteemed guest speakers. Upon completing the program, businesses will be invited to a special in-person graduation ceremony, celebrating their achievements and growth.

Additionally, TikTok will feature Black-owned businesses through the @tiktokcreators profile in a dedicated #ShopBlackOwned series. This campaign includes product highlights in the TikTok Shop tab, in-app livestream shopping sessions showcasing Black-owned brands, and documentary-style features spotlighting success stories within the community.

Community Engagement and In-Person Events

This year, TikTok is extending its Black History Month celebrations beyond the digital realm by hosting various community experiences throughout the U.S. These events aim to foster connections, celebrate Black culture, and provide platforms for creators and businesses to engage directly with their audiences.

Through these initiatives, TikTok continues to demonstrate its commitment to uplifting Black communities and providing opportunities for emerging creators and entrepreneurs. By offering both digital and in-person platforms, the company aims to celebrate Black culture and support those who shape it.
