Mayor Bill De Blasio Considering ‘Shelter In Place’ Order For New York City

A potential ‘shelter in place’ order largely confining New Yorkers to their homes, could coming in the next 48 hours according Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“All New Yorkers need to understand it’s a possibility,” de Blasio told reporters at City Hall. “It’s gotten to the point where a decision has to be made very soon.”

Collectively the city and state will make a decision on whether to order residents to remain in their home. According to reports, the number of confirmed cases of the virus is 814 as of today in all five of the boroughs.
