Rapper and entrepreneur 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, has revealed plans for his debut memoir, titled The Voice in Your Head is God. The book is set to be published March 3, 2026, by Atria Books in collaboration with Black Privilege Publishing, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

The announcement, made September 4, 2025, positions the memoir as a deeply personal and spiritual narrative. Described as “raw, uncut and motivational,” the work promises insight into Epps’ life growing up in College Park, Georgia. He reflects on being raised by a single mother after his father’s incarceration, and how he battled doubt and destructive habits before finding his purpose.

A Spiritual Journey Through Struggles

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, 2 Chainz called the memoir “my best, closest and most personal work.” He said he intends “to share the spiritual journey behind my success in a raw, uncut and motivational way.” The title, The Voice in Your Head is God, suggests an exploration of the internal guide that helped shape his decisions and artistry.

His narrative spans pivotal career moments, including collaborations with esteemed peers such as Lil Wayne and Ludacris, and the challenges he navigated along the way. “He recounts his teenage years, when he faced ‘doubt and self-destruction,’ before he ‘found his purpose’ through faith and mentorship,” per the book synopsis.

Charlamagne tha God, founder of Black Privilege Publishing, praised the memoir’s message of perseverance. “2 Chainz’s story is a story of perseverance,” Charlamagne stated. “This book will remind you that when God tells you to do something, it must be done, even if you have to reinvent yourself a few times to do it.”

From Short Film to Memoir

Earlier in 2025, 2 Chainz expanded his creative scope with a short film titled Red Clay, co-written with actor Omar Epps. The project tells the story of Nook, a teenager dealing with his mother’s addiction while dreaming of a better future. It stars Christopher Ammanuel, Rutina Wesley and Jaylan Ragin.

Reflecting on his broader artistic ambitions in an interview with Variety, 2 Chainz said, “I tell stories through my music, always hoping people feel empowered to overcome anything. Red Clay is an extension of that.” He added, “Atlanta is full of resilience, and bringing Nook and Bub’s story to life—everyday folks fighting to survive—means everything to me.”

Regarding the memoir, the rapper expressed a clear motivational aim. He said the book “will help anyone with a dream and a vision who struggles, or doubts their intuition.” The memoir is now available for pre-order through major retailers.
