Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is stepping deeper into audio storytelling with a new podcast centered on the late rap star DMX.

The project, hosted by Jadakiss, will trace DMX’s early life and climb from underground stages to mainstream fame. The narrative series is titled “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX.”

iHeartPodcasts is partnering with Jackson’s G-Unit Audio and storytelling studio Narratively to produce the podcast. It is expected to release later this year on major podcast platforms.

“We’re proud to partner with G-Unit Audio and Narratively on this incredible project exploring the life of a hip-hop icon,” Will Pearson, president of iHeartPodcasts, said in a statement.

“Bringing this new series to the iHeart platform allows us to use our massive scale and reach to share DMX’s story with fans around the world, honoring his cultural impact on the music industry,” Pearson added.

The series aims to revisit DMX before he became a defining voice in rap. DMX, born Earl Simmons, died in 2021 at age 50.

A New York Voice Guiding the Story

Jadakiss, a fellow New York rapper, will host the series and guide listeners through DMX’s formative years.

While details on the episode structure remain limited, the production is being framed as a deep narrative look at DMX’s origin story.

The project also connects artists whose careers overlapped across a pivotal era in hip-hop. Both Jadakiss and 50 Cent appeared on DMX’s 2003 album “Grand Champ,” a release packed with high-profile guest spots.

The show’s production team includes Narratively, G-Unit Audio, Blue Light Media and 1982 Media, in association with Workhouse Media.

Showrunning duties will be handled by audio producer Drew Nelles, according to Barrett Media.

Jackson has increasingly moved into film, television, and documentary-style projects in recent years. The DMX series continues that trend, but with a more personal angle through music history.

“We are thrilled to partner with 50 Cent and Narratively in telling the DMX story,” said Paul Anderson of Workhouse Media, who helped negotiate the deal.

“Put on your seatbelt,” Anderson added.

Jackson has not shared a full release date, but the announcement has already sparked heavy interest online. The series arrives as DMX’s influence remains visible across modern rap.
