Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has made yet another career achievement. His breakout hit, In Da Club, has now been certified Diamond by the RIAA.
The single, which was released in 2003, has surpassed 10 million units sold in the U.S. alone. The RIAA certified the milestone this week, giving the rapper his first-ever Diamond plaque.
In a post on Instagram, the rapper shared his excitement for his latest feat.
“In Da Club has officially reached Diamond 💎 10,000,000 singles sold. The 43rd Hip Hop song to go Diamond, 121 songs of all time to do it,” he captioned the post. “I feel good, I’m that thing 50cent.”
In Da Club was released as the first single from his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. The song debuted at No. 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 before making its way into the Top 10, and eventually peaking at No. 1. It became 50 Cent’s first chart-topping record of his career and stayed atop the charts for nine consecutive weeks, eventually being thrown off the top spot by Sean Paul’s Get Busy.
