‘8 Mile’ Actor, Nashawn Breedlove Dies at Age 46

Actor from the Eminem-led film, 8 Mile, Nashawn Breedlove, has been pronounced dead at the age. of 46. According to TMZ, he died in his sleep at his home in New Jersey

Breedlove was an underground rapper who starred in the film. His character and IRL stage name, Lotto, famously battled Eminem’s character. 

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved son Nashawn Breedlove’s passing,” his mother Patricia wrote on Facebook. “Many of you knew him by his alias ‘Lotto, ox,’ a name that echoed his resilience and determination.”

She referred to her son as remarkable and his presence in her life had a huge impact on her.

“Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. No one could deny his talent. Nashawn’s departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express. I can’t put into words the pain and hurt that I feel,” she continued in the post.

In his famous scene, Breedlove wrote the final lyrics to the rap he battled against Eminem. He lost the battle in the movie but his performance will live on for generations to come.
