New Album Release and Review: Solange’s ‘When I Get Home’ [LISTEN]

It has been a long three years since Solange had given fans the gift of A Seat at the Table, but today the wait is finally over. Solange released her high anticipated album When I Get Home. With this album, Solange has expanded her artistic style, and her musical creativity.

When I Get Home is Solange’s fourth album and it has a lot of influence from her Houston roots. The album is very influential and diverse and it includes features from rappers such as Gucci Mane, Tyler the Creator, Devin the Dude and Playboi Carti. Solange has also sampled sounds and works of other legends like actresses Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad, poet Pat Parker, and an interlude by the rapper Scarface. This project has 19 tracks on it and each of them will give fans of a bit of Houston and they get to witness how Solange continues to push the creative envelope. Listen to the album below.
