Abraham Quintanilla, the father of the late Selena, reacts to the new docuseries featuring his daughter’s killer.
The two part docuseries, Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them is set to premiere on Oxygen True Crime on February 17th and 18th and this will be Yolanda Saldivar’s first interview after spending two decades in prison for the murder of Selena.
In a trailer that was recently released, Saldivar and members of her can be seen telling their sides of the story and the events that took place before, during, and after, the fatal shooting of Selena.
“My family gathered the evidence, showed different versions of what was going on,” Saldivar said in the trailer. “I knew her secrets, and I think people deserve to know the truth.”
Abraham has revealed that he nor his family have any involvement in the docuseries and that they do not approve of it either. He also stated that he doesn’t want anything to do with Saldivar and says that her account is full of lies and believes that no one will believe her story.
Salivdar, who served as the president of Selena’s fan club, was fired after Abraham discovered that she embezzled $30,000 in fan club fees. On March 23rd, 1995, Selena agreed to meet with Salivar in a Corpus Christi Motel in Texas, to speak about the missing money. However, the meeting would take a turn for the worse that would result in the fatal shooting of the singer. She was 23 years old.
