This is sad. Actor Treat Williams has passed away after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

His death was confirmed by his agent Barry McPherson. Reports state that Williams was on his motorcycle with his helmet on in Vermont when he collided with a car on Route 30. During the first investigation, it was stated that “the driver of the car stopped, signaled a left turn, and then turned into the path of a northbound 1986 Honda V700c motorcycle operated by Williams.”

The report also said, “Williams was unable to avoid a collision and was thrown from his motorcycle. He suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead.”

Treat Williams was best known for his roles in Everwood and Hair.  He also appeared in an episode of Law and Order: SVU, as well as other movies and television shows. In 1996, he was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Michael Ortiz in the HBO film, The Late Shift.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this time.
