Actress and Bodybuilder Jayne Trcka Dies At 62

Bodybuilding icon and actress Jayne Trcka, best known for her role as Miss Mann in Scary Movie, has passed away at the age of 62 per TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet that her body was discovered in her San Diego home following several attempts from a friend to get in touch with her. Authorities were eventually contacted and first responders arrived on the scene, where they pronounced Trcka dead.

Trcka’s son said he was not aware of any medical conditions or prior illness that could have lead to her death.

Currently an official cause remains under investigation.

Trcka entered the bodybuilding scene in the 1990s gaining widespread admiration for her incredible physique and discipline. Her presence in the sport contributed to the rise of some of the most iconic female bodybuilders during this period.

“Bodybuilding wasn’t an instant decision,” Trcka told Bodybuilding.com in a 2004 interview. “It just kind of followed a progression of stages. Competing in my first competition and placing first and also getting coverage including the back cover in Woman’s Physique World. That lead to my second show. Placing well and loving competition and performing kept me going.”

Throughout her career, she won major titles, including first place at the 1997 California State Championships and the 2004 Los Angeles competition.

She later expanded her career into films and television beginning with the horror spoof Scary Movie, which hit theaters in 2000. The comedic pivot led Trcka to secure additional roles in titles including 2002’s The Black Magic, 2003’s Nudity Required, 2003’s The Interplanetary Surplus Male and Amazon Women of Outer Space, and 2006’s Cattle Call

While the investigation continues, one thing that is certain is that Jayne Trcka proved that strength and femininity could go hand-in-hand, impressing fans across stages and screens.
