Actor and comedian Affion Crockett, known for his hilarious impressions, will is paying homage to Hip Hops pioneers through a comedic lens.
Crockett will produce and star in new comedy, A Hip Hop Story. The film stars Cedric the Entertainer, Damaine Radcliff, Jevin Smith, Damien Dante Wayans, Lil Rel Howery, Wayne Brady, Lil Mama, and Norm Nixon, Jr.
Written by Crockett, the film is about Hip Hop culture being in a crisis. A pioneer of the culture joins forces with a few of rap music’s elite performers to attempt to save Hip Hop and provides social commentary on the state of Hip Hop culture.
Crockett said, “A Hip Hop story is our love letter to the culture that shaped our lives. It’s a comedy with a message that encourages all of us to see our value.” Producer Charlie Mack also adds, “A Hip Hop story is a wonderful journey over the span of 50 years, through the eyes of one of the forefathers of Hip Hop. The film explores where it came from and where the journey actually settles today. Enjoy A Hip Hop Story!”
The film is scheduled for release on February 23, 2024. No doubt, it promises to bring laughter, social commentary, and a unique perspective on the evolution of Hip Hop over the last five decades.
