The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Alfonso Ribeiro is suing the makers of video games Fortnite and NBA 2K because they’re using his famous “Carlton” dance without permission.
Ribeiro filed two separate lawsuits against Epic Games and Take-Two Interactive, the creators of Fortnite and NBA 2K, respectively, in federal court yesterday (Dec. 17). The actor is currently in the middle of copyrighting his classic moves, and is asking a judge to order both companies to stop using his dance in their for-profit products.
The man we grew to love as Carlton Banks first introduced his dance on Fresh Prince in 1991 when he grabbed a mic and sang along to Tom Jones’ famous “It’s Not Unusual.”
Spokesmen for the gaming companies have not responded for comment.
Go ahead and get down to Ribeiro’s unforgettable moves below.
