Alicia Keys turned to her YouTube channel first thing this morning to announce she’s set to host the 2019 Grammys at the Los Angeles Staples Center.
She posted the video early, showing a phone conversation with her mom for a “mama, I made it moment.”
“I’m soooo EXCITED to announce that I’ll be hosting the 61st Annual Grammy Awards!! There’s so much in store and I CAN’T WAIT for y’all to see it ALL come to life Tune in on February 10th at 5PM PST/8PM EST. Only on CBS!”
In the heartfelt video, Keys is told over the phone that she is hosting. She then tells her husband, Swizz Beatz, her two young children, Egypt Daoud and Genesis Ali, her mother and staff. She is then seen trying on outfits for a photoshoot.
Alicia keys is very familiar with the Grammys, having won 15 Grammy Awards throughout her career.
She has been an advocate for women’s equality in the workplace, world and even the 2018 Grammy Awards.
With nods for artists like Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Cardi B. on deck, the 2019 Grammy Awards promises to be a big show.
