Alijah Arenas is able to walk on his own after he was in a medically induced coma following car accident.

As previously reported, the car accident occurred on Thursday, April 24. “Five-star prospect and USC commit Alijah Arenas was involved in a serious car crash early Thursday morning, hospitalized and placed into an induced coma, sources tell ESPN. Arenas, 18, is the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas” tweeted reporter Shams Charania at the time.

Alijah Arenas’ mother, former Basketball Wives star, Laura Govan, took to social media following the accident and asked for support. “I need all you’re f*****g prayers,” she wrote.

Arenas was put into a medically induced coma, but is now out of the coma and is making progress. “Alijah opened his eyes and was able to write on a piece of paper that he remembered the smoke and asked, ‘Did anyone get hurt?’ Although he remains intubated, this progress marks a critical step forward in his recovery,” his family said.

According to  TMZ Sports and the family’s rep, “He was able to walk on his own and speak with his mother, Laura Govan, and his father, Gilbert Arenas, by his side. Alijah remains hospitalized under close observation, with additional testing still underway. The families continue to ask for privacy and ongoing prayers during this critical time.”
