On Sunday night, the first episode of the fifth and final season of Insecure premiered on HBO and HBO Max.
As fans would tweet along with the show, it was Amanda Seales’ character that would catch most of the heat. Seales plays the character Tiffany DuBois on the show and in this episode during the ten-year reunion at their alma mater, Stanford, she was seen wearing the pink and green colors of AKA (Alpha Kappa Alpha Soroity Inc.).
For those who have been watching the show since the first season, it was announced the Seales’ character and Yvonne Orji’s character, Molly was fictional members of the organization. However, this did not sit well with actual members from the sorority.
MAJOR ISSUE with this? Is Amanda Seales an AKA?

Seales would respond to the backlash via social media. See what she had to say below.
Amanda Seales said leave her alone about her character being an AKA. She said she is not a member in real life. #InsecureHBO pic.twitter.com/hQcaByZLm6

What are your thoughts on this? Do you feel that Amanda Seales was in the wrong in this situation?
