Anderson.Paak and Jeannie Mai were spotted sharing a cozy moment a few days before Valentine’s Day.
On Tuesday (Feb 10), during dinner at Andy’s, a popular Los Angeles restaurant, the nine-time Grammy winner, 40, and former talk show host were caught on video sitting closely together at their private booth.
In the video footage obtained by TMZ, the pair can be seen deeply engaged in conversation with .Paak’s arm wrapped around Mai.
.Paak. later caught wind of TMZ’s video and commented on the outlet’s social post. Clarifiying the moment, he wrote, “I was literally just telling her the plot of my new movie k-pops dropping February 27th exclusively at amc theaters nationwide.”
The new sighting comes weeks after Mariah Carey, 55, sparked rumours of a romance with Paak, when the pair were spotted holding hands and heading to dinner in Aspen, Colorado, in December.
In 2024, Mai finalized her divorce from Jeezy following an explosive legal battle which saw her accuse him of domestic violence. Since then, Mai has focused on her personal life and entertainment career, including television appearances and other projects. The ex-spouses share a four-year-old daughter, Monaco.
Of the divorce, Mai has mentioned that it changed her life for the better.
“It cracked me open and showed me everything that I’ve been trying to mask. I went through things that I wouldn’t wish on anybody,” Mai said. “The kind of pain that shakes your faith and makes you question everything. A chapter of my life ended, one I once shared right here.”
“And what looked like an ending became the awakening I never saw coming,” she continued. “Because I realized how far I had abandoned myself. How often I traded peace for making broken things look whole. And when everything fell away, it stripped me down until the only person left to meet was me.”
In the same year, Anderson.Paak filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, Jaylyn Chang, with whom he shares two sons: Soul Rasheed and Shine Tariq. Chang, a gospel singer, met Paak when he was a teaching assistant at the Musicians Institute and she was a stand-out student.
Paak has remained relatively tight-lipped about his latest divorce, which is his second. According to court docs, the former couple tied the knot on November 23, 2010. He noted in an interview with Hypebeast that Chang is the reason he learned more about his Korean heritage.
“My mom is half Black and half Korean, so I’m a quarter Korean, but I never knew much about my Korean culture until when I was married to my wife, who is fully Korean,” Paak explained. “My kids pretty much see themselves as Korean. Raising [biracial] kids, there’s a dynamic of ‘all right, you got this side and you got this side’ and teaching ‘em about both.”
