Mariah Carey has released a third single from her forthcoming album, Here For It All.
Ahead of the LPs September 26 release, Carey, 56, has announced her latest track “Play This Song” featuring Grammy-winning rapper Anderson.Paak.
The video and song will debut on the same day as the album.
The megastar previously teased a collaboration with the 39-year-old singer and rapper. In August, Mariah told the publication’s column: “We might have a duet with Anderson .Paak, it’s like a Seventies R’n’B vibe. It’s funky.
‘Play This Song’ follows lead single “Type Dangerous” and summer anthem “Sugar Sweet” with Kehlani and Shenseea.
Here For It All is Carey’s 16th studio album since 2018’s Caution. According to the official description, the album will blend pop, R&B, gospel, and hip-hop with fresh collaborations and modern influences.
In addition to Anderson .Paak, the album includes a special guest appearance from the legendary Clark Sisters, plus production from top names like The Stereotypes and HARV, along with a cover of Paul McCartney’s classic “My Love,” and an exclusive Mariah-only version of “Sugar Sweet.”
In the years since her last studio LP, Carey has kept busy with anniversary reissues of classic albums like Butterfly and The Emancipation of Mimi, as well as her 2020 collection The Rarities.
She recently received the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, where she performed a career-spanning medley of hits.
