Star forward Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky has taken another major step in building her brand by securing a federal trademark for her name. The registration was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Oct. 28, 2025, according to a filing announcement from her counsel.

Branding Move Follows Earlier Trademark Efforts

Reese’s trademark registration is priced as more than just a legal filing—it reflects her strategy to transform on-court success into long-term business value. Her newly registered mark reads “ANGEL REES E®,” and it is filed through her business entity, Angel Reese LLC, in her home state of Maryland. Earlier this year, she filed to trademark the phrase “MEBOUNDS,” which plays off her rebounding prowess and a viral catch-phrase used by critics.

In a TikTok video she acknowledged the term: “Whoever came up with the ‘mebounds’ thing, y’all ate that up … anything that comes off that board, it’s mine. And a brand? That’s six figures right there.” Her name trademark now anchors that broader strategy.

Reese’s move underscores how modern athletes are marrying performance with enterprise. By legally securing her own name, she gains exclusive rights to market apparel, endorsements and licensed products under that name. “We’re thrilled to announce … the federal trademark registration for ANGEL REESE (Reg. No. 8,004,000) for the Chicago Sky star,” wrote the firm handling her case. Beyond commerce, it offers Reese control over her narrative and brand identity.

The name registration comes at a time when Reese continues to elevate her profile off the court. She has endorsement deals, a signature shoe line with Reebok, and a rapidly growing presence in fashion and media.

With her name formally trademarked, Reese now has the legal foundation to expand product lines, licensing collaborations, and potentially global brand initiatives tied to “Angel Reese.” Her earlier trademark of “MEBOUNDS” remains pending and may be used for apparel and other merchandise. As Reese herself noted, branding is not an afterthought: “The trolling, I love when y’all do it because, like, the ideas be good,” she said.
