Grammy-award winning songstress Anita Baker may be headed to a city near you next year.

The 67 year-old who had a successful and somewhat chaotic Songstress Tour in 2023 might be attempting a part-two for her fans.

Over the weekend, the R&B singer responded to a post from a fan who praised Baker’s Songstress Tour. The post was a picture of Baker standing in front of a seemingly sold out show.

Baker then reposted it with a cryptic message including a heart, kissy-face emoji, a globe, a microphone and the numbers “2026”.

No official announcement has been made but fans responded to her post with much anticipation. “Let’s go!! Passport ready… bring on the love songs,” one user wrote. A few others were looking forward to her return to New Orleans. “Yes maam!! NOLA was amazing. Looking forward to it!!”

Songstress Tour 2023

While The Songstress Tour had sold out shows, the tour made headlines for other reasons including a public fallout with Babyface, cancellations and displeasure with the crowd.

The “Caught Up in the Rapture” artist’s tour began by featuring support from fellow R&B hitmaker Babyface, but in June, she announced that the remaining concerts would continue without an opening act.

“After Silently, Enduring Cyber Bulling/Verbal Abuse & Threats of Violence from the Fan Base, of Our Special Guest/Support Act,” she tweeted. “In the Interest of Personal Safety. I will continue, The Songstress Tour, alone. Appropriate refunds will be made. Blessings.”

Towards the end of the tour, Baker was seemingly annoyed by fans at the front row of her Houston stop, requesting them to stop recording her.

“Turn off the camera, baby,” she then requested. “I don’t know who you are, move back!” The star, who was dressed in a glistening red jumpsuit, asked the attendee to move back once more and shortly after got her security’s attention. “Security, help them out, and I mean out of my front row,” she said while her band continued played, as captured by in another video.
