Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the NFL has reached an agreement to settle his allegations against the NFL.  These allegations denied him a contract to play football after he peacefully protested by taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem of football games.

The league has also reached a deal with Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid over similar collusion allegations.

The Lawyer for Kaepernick, Mark Geragos, tweeted earlier that “the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances."

The NFL as well released a statement in regarding the case.

"The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party," the statement clarifies that details about the agreement are not made to the public.

Kap started his protests in August 2016 as he was on the side for treatment of African-Americans and other minorities in the United States. Since becoming a free agent at the end of the 2017 season, he wasn’t picked up by any team and hasn’t been granted an opportunity to make his way back in the NFL.

The quarterback received a big win last August, when the NFL arbitrator agreed to move forward with a formal hearing of his claims.

Reid, who participated in the protests with Kaepernick back in 2016, unlike Kap, was given an opportunity and was picked up by the Carolina Panthers for the 2019 season.
