Five weeks after her shocking death, Anne Burrell’s cause of death has been revealed.
Reports state that the Food Network star died by suicide. Her autopsy report revealed that Burrell had a mixture of drugs in her system. The medical examiner said she died of “the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine.”
We reported that Burrell was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn apartment at 1 a.m. after collapsing on the shower floor. It was believed that she died via cardiac arrest. Burrell’s husband was told by 911 dispatchers to perform CPR while waiting for first responders to arrive. Upon arrival, paramedics tried to do everything they could to revive her but failed.
Burrell was married to Stuart Claxton since 2021, and was the stepmother to his son, Javier. “Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent- teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,” the Food Network said in a statement.
Anne Burrell was 55 years old.
